Our Director Business Development Ian Clarke has been busy in Singapore this week, attending the first Industry Symposium of the UK Ministry of Defence annual Indo-Pacific Defence Engagement Conference and meeting regional maritime security experts.
Joining a panel session on the Lessons on Digital Deterrence, the advantages of delivering higher hardware performance and decision-making at scale and speed were discussed; also the importance of adoption of new technology as soon as the operational risk level allows and with a mindset of continuous improvement in collaboration with users; plus the importance of common standards, consensus and policy alignment among allies and partners on data-sharing and the use of AI.
The output of the ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre is a great example of the importance of effective information sharing, connecting ships, companies, coastal states and ReCAAP Centre, providing verified reports and analysis of incidents to enhance the safety and security of seafarers.
