Ben Popham

Senior Advisor

Ben served in Policing for over 17 years, where he specialised in the Marine Policing National Portfolio, where he contributed to UK and international crisis management operations. He created, developed and delivered critical training to address UK capability gaps, equipping experienced marine police officers with critical tactical skills.

Throughout his policing career, Ben played a pivotal role in numerous high-profile maritime security operations. He provided advisory support for the UK CT Maritime Response planning, the UK’s maritime security response to EU exit, deployed to Jersey to aid in the Government’s handling of fishing protests and supported the maritime security planning for the G7 summit in St Ives.

Ben’s expertise was recognised through his involvement in various Home Office Maritime Security working groups and he was commended by the National Police Chiefs Council for his exceptional contributions to maritime policing.

After moving on from Policing, Ben founded XB44 Ltd, a specialist Maritime Security Training and Consultancy firm. His extensive knowledge and operational experience have been leveraged by governments and private clients to deliver innovative and effective solutions.
